Rs. 5: this 2003 WWF issue shows the Echo Parakeet, a critically rare endemic island species that has an interesting conservation history. It was bred in captivity from just a dozen birds in the 1980s, later being released into its native forest habitat, and flocks now number in the hundreds.

This flower's genus is named after the French botanist who embroiled France, Spain and Britian in the so-called Dombey affair, when in 1780 he sent a flora collection to Europe from Peru and the British seized the vessel and impounded the samples.
